Hatchbook

1. Who We Are

Hatchbook ("we", "us", or "our") is a poultry flock management application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our web application at app.gethatchbook.com.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account or use Hatchbook, we collect:

Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored securely via Supabase)
Operation details — farm name, location, and operation type you provide during signup
Flock data — birds, pens, egg records, health events, incubation batches, sales, and expenses you enter into the app
Usage data — pages visited, features used, and general app activity for improving the service
Device information — browser type, operating system, and device type for compatibility purposes

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google in accordance with their OAuth permissions. We do not receive your Google password.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide, operate, and maintain the Hatchbook application
Sync your flock data across devices
Send you account-related emails (password resets, verification)
Send you product updates, feature announcements, and feedback requests — you may opt out at any time
Respond to support requests and inquiries
Improve and develop new features based on how the app is used
Comply with legal obligations

4. Email Communications

By creating a Hatchbook account, you agree that we may contact you at the email address you provided. This includes onboarding guidance, product updates, feedback surveys, and occasional announcements. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You may also opt out at any time by emailing us at gethatchbook@gmail.com. Opting out of marketing emails does not affect transactional emails related to your account.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which is hosted on AWS infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including row-level security so that each user can only access their own data. We do not sell your data to third parties.

6. Third-Party Services

Hatchbook uses the following third-party services:

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
Vercel — web hosting and deployment
Google OAuth — optional sign-in method

Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing how they handle data.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction — update or correct inaccurate information
Deletion — request that we delete your account and all associated data
Opt out — unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time
Portability — export your flock data in CSV format from within the app

8. Children's Privacy

Hatchbook is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email. Your continued use of Hatchbook after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
